Update! Update!
Ok. Guilty as charged. I've been so lazy that i havn't been updating. So here it goes. The proceedings of the last 4 weeks in a nutshell. My bung from army, ze man of the admin room, Adi came to visit me with David and Aza. They so smartly rented a car from the airport - a nissan pulsar, which was a nifty little car. Well, we met them for dinner on the first day which was on the 21st of July, and we went to Bismis along 300+ sydney road for .... PRATA. Mouth-watering, Palate gratifying, authentic Singaporean Prata!!!! Though i had Nasi Goreng, and the pot actually filled up my plate at least 2 rounds! That's how much rice they gave! And they also had amazing authentic teh tarik (tea with milk, pulled in a sense that the cup containing the tea with milk is elevated and then poured into another cup held below it, so to create a frothy looking tea top, and at the same time, make it such that when you put your lips to the tea you won't end up with your lips charred. It was awesome !
They had Teh Halia as well (ginger), though i did not really appreciate that.
Ok, then on friday, (23rd), we rented a Sante Fe (Hyundai), even though i really wanted an X-trail, and the whole gang of us went up to Mount Buller. It was hell of a long drive. The trip to the mountains took about 3 hours. And for many of us, it was our first glimpse of snow! So suah gu.
After walking around in the snow and having the opportunity to behave like an 8 year old on snow by descending a slope via my backside, the blizzard starting to pick up, so we decided to seek shelter and then take the shuttle bus back to the carpark area. The descend down to the main road back to Melbourne was tough, due to the rain/snow and the roads were wet and winding. Then halfway , Adi took the wheels. Amidst a loud and long karaoke session (and with Aza doing his wierd indian hand gesturish dance at the back), we exhausted our repetoire of listening material, and we were forced to listen to
Adi's BENGISH TECHNO MUSIC. Aidoi!
upon reaching their hotel at some victoria backpack inn place, and semi-deaf, i took over the wheel, and drove back.
We had coffee /breakfast at Greco's the next morning before they headed off to the airport and back to Sydney.
I'm gonna make sure we do something similar to this again. :-)
